The Role of Physical Education Teachers in Promoting Student Health – Literature review

Dr. Nora Deda is a distinguished academic and former elite volleyball player from Shkodër, Albania.
Her academic path began with graduation from the Institute of Physical Culture “Vojo Kushi” in Tirana. She complete a Master of Science at the Sports University of Tirana (2008), and PhD in Sport Science (2016).
Dr. Deda has served as a lecturer at the University of Shkodër “Luigj Gurakuqi” since 2009. She is a professional volleyball, playing for renowned Albanian teams: Vllaznia, Partizani, Tirana, Minatori, and Dinamo. Her playing career culminated in honors such as “The Best Volleyball Player of the Century” by Vllaznia Club in 2000.
Dr. Deda has an extensive scientific record, published in international journals. She is coordinator of the SHAPE Project, aWestern Balkan university collaboration in sport and health (2023). She is also a certified Level I Volleyball Coach and holds international coaching certifications and recognition from the Albanian Volleyball Federation and local authorities for her contribution to sport.
Her accolades include numerous certificates of appreciation and honors, such as the “Best of the Year” award from Shkodra Municipality in 2024, the “Naim Frashëri” Order of the Second Class in 1989, and a gold medal with the national volleyball team. She was also honored by the International Olympic Committee in 2002 and by the U.S. for promoting cultural values.
